Add new customer

 

SeatOn Web - Add new customer

 

To add a new customer into your database, go to the main menu and select Customers/Add new customer. You will be presented with a form with customer data.

Form is divided in 2 sections:

  1. Customer details
  2. Customer contact data

Mandatory data which is needed in order to enter a customer is:

  • First name – customer’s first name
  • Last name – customer’s last name
  • Contact data - Email or Phone number – customer’s email or phone number, respectively. At least one of these two fields should be filled. This data is later needed to contact the customer when he/she makes a reservation or is put to the waiting list.

When you are done with entering customer data, you must click the button “Save customer data” in order to save the customer to the database. Clicking the “Cancel” button erases all changes on the form.

 

I. Customer details


Section Customer details contains following data fields to fill:

  • First name – customer’s first name
  • Last name – customer’s last name
  • Opted for marketing - check this checkbox if the customer gave his permission to be contacted for marketing purposes. Default value is unchecked.
  • Birthday - customer’s birthday. If the customer opted for marketing you may decide to invite him to your restaurant few days before customer's birthday
  • Anniversary – customer’s anniversary. If the customer opted for marketing you may decide to invite him to your restaurant few days before customer's anniversary
  • Important dates – apart from birthday and anniversary, you can add other important dates for a specific customer by clicking the button “Add important date
  • Favorite table – drop down menu from which you can select favorite customer’s table, if the customer has selected one
  • Reservation allowed - by default this checkbox is checked, however if a customer frequently cancels reservations, or doesn’t show at all although he made a reservation, you may decide to forbid the customer from making further reservations.
  • Waitlist allowed – by default this checkbox is checked, however if a customer frequently cancels his arrival, or doesn’t show without any response, although he acquired a table through the wait-list, you may decide to forbid the customer from using the waiting list.
  • Allergies – various common allergies are listed by default (eggs, fish, milk, peanuts, seeds, shellfish, soy, tree nuts, wheat), but you can also enter new allergies, specific to this customer.
  • Note – any other specific note about the customer

 

II. Customer contact data

Section Customer contact data contains following data fields to fill:

Address

Address consists of following fields:

  • Country – country where the customer is living. By default the country where your restaurant is located is selected automatically from the drop down menu
  • State – state where the customer is living. By default the state where your restaurant is located is selected automatically from the drop down menu
  • Zip code – zip code of the city where the customer is living
  • City – city where the customer is living. By default, this field is filled with the value of the city where your restaurant is located is selected
  • Street – street where the customer is living

You can add multiple addresses by clicking the button .

Email

Enter customer’s email address in the appropriate field. You can also add multiple emails by clicking the button .
 

Phone

Enter customer’s phone in the appropriate field. You can add multiple phones by clicking the button .
