SeatOn Web - Reservation widget

 

1. Introduction

Reservation widget is add-on to your restaurant's web page which adds SeatOn reservation functionality to your website. It can be easily embedded into your website, and allow the customers visiting your website to create online bookings. Once integrated into your website, it takes form of a floating button on your restaurant's web page:

 

Clicking the Book a table button will open a book a table form to a customer over the restaurant webpage as you can see on the picture below, on which he can fill reservation data in order to create online reservation:

Once the customer completes a reservation, form will be closed, and he will return to the restaurant webpage.

Online reservations can later be managed on the Table management page.

 

2. Reservation widget page

Reservation widget page is accessed through the web application menu Settings/Reservation widget.

Once the widget is embedded into your website code, enable the reservation widget by checking on the checkbox Enable online reservation widget.

Disable the reservation widget by checking off the checkbox Enable online reservation widget.

 

The page is further divided in three sections, accessible on three tabs:

1. Settings
2. Customization
3. Integration

 

1. Settings

In this section you can fine tune the way the reservation widget will be presented on your web page.

• offer alternative times to visitors if there are no free tables for required time - if the guest requested table at a time when all the tables are booked, system can offer him similar alternative times when there are free tables
• maximum number of seats allowed per reservation - you can limit number of seats which can be reserved through online reservation
• special reservation notice: (will be shown to visitors during reservation) - specify content of a message which will be shown during reservation process. After an online reservation is made, this message will be sent along to the customer with the confirmation email.

In order for changes to become effective, you must click the button Save settings.

 

2. Customization

Here you can specify position, text and overall look and feel of the reservation widget button which will be shown on your website. Immediate preview of the button is shown on the right side of the screen.

Following button attributes can be set:

• Button position - button position on the screen
• Button text -
• Button colors
  • Background color
  • Text color
  • Hover background color
  • Hover text color
  • Button line color
• Font size
• Button transparency

In order for changes to become effective, you must click the button Save settings.

 

3. Integration

This section gives instructions and shows HTML code which must be embedded into your website in order to integrate SeatOn reservation widget.

There are two options for integration:

• Option 1 - Add a link to your web page
• Option 2 - Add a SeatOn floating button to your web page

Option 1 - add a link to your web page

If you select this option, you just have to copy the given link and assign it as an action to the appropriate button on you web page. When the user clicks on the button, SeatOn reservation form opens in a new browser tab by following the given link.

Please note that the look and feel of your button is then entirely defined by your web site. Settings in the Customization tab on this page are not relevant for this setup.

 

Option 2 - Add a SeatOn floating button to your web page

If you select this option, you will get a floating button onto your web page which you can customize in the Customization tab on this page.

In order to integrate widget with your web page, ask your web administrator to copy code above, and insert it just before the </head> tag on your main web page. This code will also enable Availability widget on your web page, so you need to copy it only once, if you want to enable both widgets.
